January 4, 2013 Bob Hovey Hovpensports.com Publisher Talk about it in Kansas Girls Basketball The top two teams in the Kansas Class 6A girls rankings will be in the same gym tonight, but unfortunately, won't be playing each other. The No. 1 ranked Heights girls, looking to extend their win streak will be taking on Hutchinson at 7pm, following the No. 2 ranked girls who play the early game against Northwest at 3:30. Both teams are expected to win handily. Boys teams are also playing from those same schools at Koch Arena on the campus of Wichita State University. Another pair of games are being played at Hartman Arena where Arkansas City and Wichita South along with Goddard and Bishop Carroll will meet head on. Saturday, the best game of the lot could be Andover Central and Kapaun girls while the Wichita North boys team and Andover High should produce some interesting moments. Nearly every team in Kansas will be back on the court tonight, and in two weeks the state will be back into tournament action with several top matchups as teams travel around to see competition they don't normally play. It's been a long break. Enjoy the games tonight and we'll try and post a few photos of the top girls' teams later this evening.
