Wichita, Kan. - The Swedes host the Falcons for fourth KGSO Thursday night game of the week this season. The Warriors will find their way to McPherson to take on the Bulldogs on Saturday for the Scoreboard Show Game of the Week. All 10 teams are in action this week.

Friends

Last week: 1/5 def. McPherson 77-55; 1/3 def. Sterling 65-54

Upcoming: Next 1/10 at Bethany 6:00 p.m.; 1/12 vs. Tabor 5:00 p.m.

Friends won both of their games last week and currently sit at third in the conference standings at 4-2. The Falcons own the conference's best scoring defense, allowing just less than 59 points per game. Against McPherson, Abril Marshall scored 17 to lead the Falcons to a victory, her 11th game this season scoring in double-figures. Minta Whetstone contributed 16 points, and has averaged more than 13 points per game the last three games.

Bethany

Last week: 1/5 def. Saint Mary 64-55; 1/3 L. vs. Southwestern 77-50

Upcoming: Next 1/10 vs. Friends 6:00 p.m.; 1/12 at Kansas Wesleyan 5:00 p.m.

Bethany has lost six straight games, and 15 of 16 since winning their season opener. The Swedes are averaging 50 points per game, which is last in the conference. Tanya Garner averaged 15 points in both games last week, including an 18 point, 8 rebound game against Saint Mary.

McPherson

McPherson has won three of their last four games, but fell to Friends last week 77-55. The Bulldogs own the conference's third highest scoring offense, averaging almost 67 points per game. Cheyenne Eisenhour scored 20 points in last week's victory over Saint Mary. Ali Brewster leads the team in scoring at 10.6 points per game.

Sterling

Last week: 1/5 def. Kansas Wesleyan 68-66; 1/3 L. at Friends 65-54

Upcoming: Next 1/10 vs. Bethel 6:00 p.m.; 1/12 at McPherson 5:00 p.m.

Sterling has not won back-to-back games since November, but will have an opportunity this week against McPherson. The Warriors lead the conference in defensive rebounds per game with 28.5, and outrebound their opponents by almost four rebounds per game. Cassi Spleiss scored 25 points in last week's victory over Kansas Wesleyan, shooting 9-11 from the free throw line and 8-16 from the field. Spleiss is averaging 10.8 points per game this season, third on the team.

Bethel (5-10, 1-5)

Bethel has lost two straight, and five of their last six. Lauren Ulrich led the team in scoring in their loss against Ottawa with 15 points. Katie Regier added 9 points and 9 rebounds, while Taylor Durant contributed 8.

Kansas Wesleyan (9-7, 4-2)

Last week: 1/5 L. at Sterling 68-66; 1/3 def. Bethel 61-44

Upcoming: Next 1/10 vs. McPherson 6:00 p.m.; 1/12 vs. Bethany 5:00 p.m.

Kansas Wesleyan's loss against Sterling last week broke the team's six game winning streak. Alecia Smith scored 19 points and collected 9 rebounds in the game, her third straight game scoring in double-figures.

Ottawa (6-10, 2-4)

Last week: 1/5 def. Bethel 68-50; 1/3 L. at Tabor 56-32

Upcoming: Next 1/10 vs. Southwestern 6:00 p.m.; 1/12 vs. Saint Mary 3:00 p.m.

Ottawa has won three of their last four games, including last week's victory over Bethel. Amber Ramsey scored 20 points to lead the team, while also grabbing 7 rebounds. Ramsey is averaging almost 15 points per game this season, and also leads the team in rebounds and blocks.

Saint Mary (5-11, 1-5)

Last week: 1/5 def. Bethany 64-55; 1/3 L. at McPherson 74-46

Upcoming: Next 1/8 vs. Manhattan Christian 6:00 p.m.; 1/10 vs. Tabor 6:00 p.m.; 1/12 at Ottawa 3:00 p.m.

Saint Mary defeated Bethany last week to end a 10-game losing streak. Bailey Hooker led the team with 16 points and 7 rebounds in the game, followed by Jennifer Harmon with 14 and Jordan VanNess with 12. The Spires lead the conference with more than 16 assists per game, almost three higher than the second best.

Southwestern (10-5, 5-1)

Last week: 1/5 L. at Tabor 77-75; 1/3 def. Bethany 77-50

Upcoming: Next 1/10 at Ottawa 6:00 p.m.; 1/12 vs. Bethel 5:00 p.m.

Southwestern had their eight game winning streak spoiled last week losing to Tabor. However, the Moundbuilders are still in second place in the conference at 5-1, and have the conference's highest scoring offense at more than 73 points per game. Zefiryn Bryan leads the team in scoring with 11.7 points per game, as well as 6.7 rebounds per game.

Tabor (10-6, 6-0)

Last week: 1/5 def. Southwestern 77-75; 1/3 def. Ottawa 56-32

Upcoming: Next 1/10 at Saint Mary 6:00 p.m.; 1/12 at Friends 5:00 p.m.

Tabor's defeat of Southwestern last week gave them sole possession of first place, as well as a two game winning streak. The Blue Jays have won seven of their last eight games. Janelle Rust scored 25 points in the victory against Southwestern, while Nikki Lewis scored 17. Rust is averaging 16.5 points per game, which leads the team. Lewis leads the team in assists with more than 6 per game, as well as steals.
