January 12, 2013 Our Friday night basketball took us to Derby where the Mustangs of Salina Central swept the double header from the Panthers with the girls victorious by a 51-42 marginOn the boys side, Derby had come from down 12 at the start of the fourth quarter to three points with 41 seconds left before Central made six straight at the line, winning 54-48 in the end. Undefeated El Dorado fell to McPherson 65-40 for their first loss of the year in boys play and Mulvane took their first girls loss falling to Buhler. Holton girls won their 105th straight league game with a 49-43 victory over Santa Fe Trail. In the City League, Northwest defeated Kapaun boys 52-50 in a thriller, and AVCTL action saw Augusta by two over Rose Hill 50-48 in another.
