HCC'S PATRICK NAMED KJCCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

For the second time this season, Hutchinson Community College women's basketball player Jamie Patrick earned Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week honors.

Patrick had a career high point total against No. 11 Garden City on Jan. 7 and her second career double-double in a key road win last Wednesday at Butler.

Patrick was a perfect 8 of 8 shooting from the field in a career-high 21-point effort in a 61-46 home victory against No. 11 Garden City. Patrick hit four 3-point goals.

Against Butler two days later, Patrick had 18 points and 12 rebounds to power the top-ranked Lady Dragons to a key early-season conference 58-45 road victory over the Grizzlies.

For the week, Patrick averaged 19.5 points and 6.5 rebounds, shooting 63.6 percent overall and 58.3 percent from 3-point range.

This is the third time the Lady Dragons have earned a weekly Jayhawk Conference honor. Patrick won the conference's honor in Week 4 and one week later, sophomore Chrisstasia Walter earned weekly league honors.

Patrick is now eligible for NJCAA National Player of the Week honors. That award will be announced on Wednesday.
