Wichita, Kan. - All five KCAC Matchups including KGSO 1410 AM Game of the Week move to Wednesday Night this week. Southwestern and Tabor are tied atop the KCAC Standings through eight games, with Friends just one game back.

KGSO 1410 AM Wednesday Night Game of the Week: Ottawa (7-11, 3-5) at Friends (12-7, 6-2)

Ottawa

Last week: 1/10 L. vs. Southwestern 59-54; 1/12 def. Saint Mary 82-65

Upcoming: Next 1/16 at Friends 6:00 p.m.; 1/19 vs. Kansas Wesleyan 5:00 p.m.

Ottawa rebounded from their loss against Southwestern in their first game last week to defeat Saint Mary on Saturday. Shauna McClure led the team with 17 points, and Amber Ramsey put up a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, as well as 6 assists and 3 blocks. McClure averaged 18 points during the week, and is ranked 6th in the conference in points per game with 12.6. The Braves are currently in 7th place in the conference, one game behind Sterling.

Friends

Last week: 1/10 def. Bethany 46-38; 1/12 def. Tabor 58-50

Upcoming: Next 1/16 vs. Ottawa 6:00 p.m.; 1/19 vs. Southwestern 5:00 p.m.

Friends is on a four-game winning streak and are ranked third in the conference, one game back from the top spot. Tina Fakahafua scored 7 points with 14 rebounds in the victory against Bethany, her second double-digit rebound game of the season. Fakahafua's 8 offensive rebounds are the most in a single-game this season in the conference. The Falcons lowered their conference-leading scoring defense to 57 points per game after last week's performances.

Kansas Wesleyan

Kansas Wesleyan split its games last week and now sits at 5-3 in the conference. Alecia Smith scored 22 points in the team's victory over Bethany, with Christian Cassity adding 15. Stephanie Frost pulled down 16 rebounds in the team's loss to McPherson. Smith is ranked 2nd in the conference in points per game with 15 and 1st in the conference in rebounds per game with 8.4. The Coyotes are averaging more than 66 points per game, which is second in the conference.

Bethel (5-12, 1-7)

Bethel dropped both of its games last week and is in the midst of a four-game losing streak. Lauren Ulrich scored 16 in the team's loss to Southwestern, and is 4th in the conference in points per game with 13.2.

Bethany (2-16, 1-7)

Last week: 1/10 L. vs. Friends 46-38; 1/12 L. at Kansas Wesleyan 58-39

Upcoming: Next 1/16 vs. Sterling 6:00 p.m.; 1/19 at McPherson 5:00 p.m.

Bethany's losing streak extended to eight after dropping both games last week, and the team's scoring offense dropped to just under 49 points per game, last in the conference. Tanya Garner led the team against Kansas Wesleyan with 10 points and 6 rebounds.

McPherson (11-7, 5-3)

Last week: 1/10 def. Kansas Wesleyan 56-52; 1/12 def. Sterling 63-60

Upcoming: Next 1/16 at Bethel 6:00 p.m.; 1/19 at McPherson 5:00 p.m.

The Bulldogs won both of its games last week and are two games back in the conference. Kaylee Cramer scored 18 points with 7 rebounds in the team's victory over Sterling. McPherson has the third highest scoring offense in the conference with almost 66 points per game.

Sterling (8-10, 4-4)

Last week: 1/10 def. Bethel 65-45; 1/12 L. at McPherson 63-60

Upcoming: Next 1/16 at Bethany 6:00 p.m.; 1/19 vs. Tabor 5:00 p.m.

Sterling was led last week by Cassi Spleiss. The senior poured in 30 points against McPherson, and 14 against Bethel. The performances raised her scoring average to 12 points per game which leads the team and is 6th in the conference.

Saint Mary (6-13, 1-7)

Last week: 1/8 def. Manhattan Christian 73-69; 1/10 L. vs. Tabor 72-57; 1/12 def. Ottawa 82-65

Upcoming: Next 1/16 at Southwestern 6:00 p.m.; 1/19 vs. Bethel 5:00 p.m.

Saint Mary lost both of its games last week and have lost 12 of the last 14. The Spires had 13 players score in last week's game against Ottawa, led by Adelyn Ezeh's 10 points.

Southwestern (12-5, 7-1)

Last week: 1/10 def. Ottawa 59-54; 1/12 def. Bethel 72-57

Upcoming: Next 1/16 vs. Saint Mary 6:00 p.m.; 1/19 at Friends 5:00 p.m.

Southwestern followed up its loss against Tabor with two wins last week. Jana Reichenberger scored 23 points with 6 rebounds in the team's victory over Bethel. The Moundbuilders continue to have the top ranked offense in the conference, averaging more than 72 points per game.

Tabor (11-7, 7-1)

Last week: 1/5 def. Southwestern 77-75; 1/3 def. Ottawa 56-32

Upcoming: Next 1/10 at Saint Mary 6:00 p.m.; 1/12 at Friends 5:00 p.m.

The Bluejays lost its first conference game of the season last week against Friends. Janelle Rust scored 20 points in the loss to lead all scorers. Against Southwestern, Tabor had five players in double-figures.
