February 13, 2013 Wichita, Kan. - Ten returning 2012 All-KCAC First team members adorn the 2012 -2013 Preseason All-KCAC Softball Team. Highlighting the team are Jennifer Garcia (Bethany), Kelsey Garner (Friends), Nicole Felker (Bethany), Morgan Jacobs (Kansas Wesleyan), and Cheyenne Stewart (Friends). KCAC Head Softball Coaches voted all 16 players to the team.Jennifer Garcia went 20-7 in 31 games with 186.1 innings pitched in 2012. Her ERA (2.10) was third best in 2012, while she was second in conference in wins and innings per game (6.01). Garcia's opponents hit a league leading 0.213 against her. She was selected 2012 All-KCAC First Team (Unanimous) and 2012 KCAC Pitcher of the Year. Kelsey Garner went 25-9 in 35 games with 209.1 innings pitched in 2012. Her ERA (2.44) was fifth best in 2012, while she was first in conference in wins and third innings per game (5.78). Garner's opponents hit only 0.218 against her. She was selected 2012 All-KCAC First Team and 2012 KCAC Newcomer of the Year. Nicole Felker earned All-KCAC 1st Team Honors in 2012. She hit 0.372 last season and lead the KCAC in At-Bats (183), Runs Scored (49), and Hits (68). Felker also stole 24 bases in 27 attempts. Morgan Jacobs earned All-KCAC 1st Team Honors and Newcomer of the Year, along with Kelsey Garner, in 2012. She hit 0.384, had a 0.422 OBP, Stole 18 bases, Scored 40 runs, and had 63 hits. Cheyenne Stewart earned All-KCAC 1st Team Honors in 2012. She hit 0.360, Slugged 0.673, with 54 hits and nine home runs. Stewart also led the conference in total bases (101) last season. All returning ALL-KCAC First Team and Second Team 2012 performers were nominated for preseason honors. Head Softball Coaches also had the opportunity to nominate other key members from their teams.
