Wichita, Kan. - Kansas Wesleyan University Junior, Canon Fields, is named KCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the fourth time in the 2012-2013 season. The 6-0, Guard from Topeka, Kansas scored 77 points in two conference games this week.

February 14th, Fields tallied 50 points (shooting 64%) and 11 rebounds for his 10th double double of the season. Despite Fields' 50, the Coyotes were unable to overcome KCAC #2 Bethany in Lindsborg, 87 to 78. Against Tabor on February 16th, Fields scored 27 points in an 84-79 home lost to Tabor. Fields also had 6 rebounds, three assists, and five steals in the effort.

Fields' 50 points is the single game high in NAIA Division II. It also sets a new Kansas Wesleyan University record for single game points, breaking a record initially set in 1957 and tied in 1965, but remained untouched for 48 years. In the same game he broke KWU's single season scoring record, passing up Jason Gentz' 644 points from 1996

Fields finished the week with a 58% Field Goal Percentage (28-48), 77 points, 17 rebounds, six steals and five assists. Fields leads the KCAC in scoring with 679 points (22.25 per game), Assists (147) and Steals (65). He is fifth in conference with 229 rebounds (8.18 per game).
