Wichita, Kan. - Bethany College's Jennifer Garcia (Senior, Harlingen, Texas) is awarded the KCAC Pitcher of the Week. Megan Walentynowicz (Freshman, Cedar Park, Texas) of Southwestern College has been awarded KCAC Player of the Week. Awards are voted upon by KCAC Sports Information Directors and are based on student-athletes performances during March 4-10.

Garcia earned her second win of the season as the Bethany Swedes defeated Morningside (Iowa), 9-1. In six innings pitched, Garcia allowed four hits, six walks, and one earned run while striking out seven batters. Garcia worked two innings of relieve against Nebraska Wesleyan, striking out four batters and allowing no hits or runs. Garcia's season ERA is 1.34 in 31.1 innings pitched. Opponents are batting 0.183 against her, and she has recorded 35 strikeouts to 20 walks.

Walentynowicz played in all five games for the Southwestern Moundbuilders this week. In a two-game series against Hillsdale, she went 4-6 at the plate with five runs scored, two RBIs, and a triple. Walentynowicz recorded a hit in every game during the five-game stretch. She finished the week with a 0.538 Batting Sverage (7-13), 0.923 Slugging, seven Runs Scored, and three RBI's.
