Newton vs Derby photos

It was an interesting night of softball in the Wichita and one which pitted the haves against the have not's in most instances.

Hillsboro took a pair of lop sided wins from Smoky Valley, the second 17-4.

Maize South pounded Arkansas City 14-2 and 17-1 while Goddard was beating up on Eisenhower 17-4 and 12-0. Miranda Rohleder finished 4-4 and Talli Shepherd and Kayli Nickkel were 3-4 in the late game, while game one saw Shepherd 4-5, and catcher Megan Dougherty was 4-4 with Brianna Fuchs 3-4 at the plate. Goddard had a total of 32 hits in the double header.

Maize had a little tougher time with Hutchinson winning the first game 13-6 and the second 3-1. In game one, Emily Griggs was 4-5 with a grand slam and Allison Jurgensen also had a grand slam.

Andover Central and Valley Center split their double header in Division II for the AVCTL while Andover and Campus split with Campus winning game two 14-4 after a 14-9 loss in game one.

The lower AVCTL division games got colded out on Monday.

We hit the Derby vs Newton game up and managed a little over 100 photos of position players. Had a problem with the hip, so didn't stand a lot to take any more. What I got can be seen at Hovpen Photo Shop

Kenzie Young and Lindsay Webb both had inside the park home runs for the Lady Panthers.
