Some good talent, highly ranked in the state of Kansas was present at the 20 team Fredonia Invitational this past Friday, as was yours truly who managed to catch some of it on film thanks in part to my lovely Grand Daughter Miri Gordon who helped with some of the camera work.
Caney valley throwers Levi Wyrick and Kenny Brown captured an audience in the shot and discus although neither reached their previous best of the season.
We visited with Wyrick and should have a story up on him sometime this next week which includes his most recent Division I contact-Harvard among others who are talking with him presently.
Also photographed were several high jumpers including Girard's Drew David, Caney Valley's Nic Camper, Colgan's Duncan, Yates Center's Kal Hamm and Myles Dice.
For the girls high jumpers, Madi Rollins took honors, with Independence's Shania Vannoster right behind.
But perhaps the best performance was turned in by West Elk's Sarah Hines who broke the old meet record in the high hurdles although still not bettering her state leading time of 14.66 so far this year.
