For those of you who don't know, I am approaching the end of my second week out of a major hip replacement and if I may say so, rehab is going slow as all get out but if I had to do it all over again, I would try and have it done three years ago.
As such, I haven't done a lot with the web site for the past three or four weeks as you can tell by the age of the articles on the front page. I am getting close to taking off again however, and as soon as I feel I can negotiate the 13 steps down to my main computer where all my information is stored, I'll be looking for articles to do which means I will need help and communication from those athletes who are out there taking visits and talking about their future.
One of the things I have missed this season is a definite lack of photo opportunities having discovered I have absolutely no photos from baseball from the Class of 2016 and very few from other sports since my steps have been extremely limited the past two plus years.
That should be rectified shortly with the start of the football and volleyball season this fall and I hope to see twice the games in person I attended last season for both video highlight opts and still photo shots.
We once again have a good class of football players as evidenced by almost double figure commitments to major universities so far this season and many more are close to commitments.
My first outing this season will be the Independence at Butler game on Aug. 28th I believe where I hope to obtain enough information for several articles on some of our top players last season and why they passed up four year rides to attend junior college.
I have not yet decided on our first HS games yet, but they will have high profile recruits playing as there is once again, a tremendous amount of talent in the Wichita area. I should mention, our schedules are almost complete and you should check yours out to make sure it is correct as our software is notorious for switching stuff around once it has been entered.
We will also be checking out some of the younger fall softball teams as well as our regular volleyball beat which I may be hitting harder since my granddaughter no longer is in high school, having finished her career with three state tournament appearances.
It looks like it is going to be a good year and as always, I am willing to entertain guest articles on specific areas of the state which I am unable to commute to in person.
With that said, we close with our regular: Play hard, play clean, and make the game fun for all
