Moving ahead on the small diamond

Games are currently underway in some of the final national tournaments of the summer and ponders one question that should be answered as we move on to another graduating class next season.

How much better did you get over the summer?

Many answers will come out of this including: Was it good enough for me to get looked at seriously so I can continue my game at the next level? Or: Can I actually play well enough to help out a team and have some of my schooling paid for?

It won't be long before we will be asking summer coaches for names of players who have improved for addition to our player to watch listings for next season. Several graduations and transfers have opened up several slots on next year's top team list as well and with only three coming back off of our starting nine, there is plenty of room for additions.

Two showcases are forthcoming, the long established Sunflower Showcase in Salina and the new kid on the block in Hutchinson. Unfortunately, these are both being held on the same day which causes something of a problem but hopefully in the future, if both continue, dates will be split allowing more coverage.

There is also fall ball, and we would like to know if your team will be competing in the Wichita area as the past couple years, our health has limited the photo opportunities and we have some catching up to do,

Whatever your case, it's time to start looking at your future.
