Tiger baseball players sign with four-year schools
Play ball! Each sophomore member of last Play ball! Each sophomore member of last season's Cowley College baseball team will continue their playing careers in 2015.
Seven of the sophomores are slated to play for NCAA Division I schools, three signed with NCAA Division II schools, and one signed a professional contract. The only sophomore from last season's team that will not continue playing is Conner Murray, who is unable to play due to injury.
Tiger assistant coach Brock Buckingham said the signings demonstrate the caliber of players Cowley is able to recruit.
"These signings are a great thing for the players and our program," Buckingham said. "This shows future players of ours that they will be seen by other schools when they play here and they will have an opportunity to go on and play at a four-year school or play professionally."
Signing with four-year schools were pitcher Seth Holman (Southern Mississippi), freshman catcher Dillon White (Oklahoma State), shortstop Kris Molter (McNeese State), pitcher Austin Sanders (McNeese State), pitcher Tyler Day (McNeese State), centerfielder A.J. Shaw (Arkansas Little Rock), and pitcher Levi Skinner (Central Arkansas). Outfielder Justin Burba plans to walk on at Wichita State University.
Those signing with NCAA Division II schools were first baseman Gage Grant (Pittsburg State University), pitcher Ryan Jenkins (Newman University), and third baseman Ryan McBroom (Emporia State University).
Freshman pitcher Storm Rynard signed a professional contract with the Texas Rangers after being selected in the 34th round of the Major League Baseball draft.
